What is Hacktoberfest?

Hacktoberfest is the easiest way to get into open source! Hacktoberfest is a month long festival of code that provides a large list of available open-source contribution opportunities for beginners (and more experienced coders)! Best of all, anyone across the globe can get a free t-shirt just for participating! There are currently over 9,000 contribution opportunities!!

The Quick Details:

  • Hacktoberfest runs from October 1 st— October 31st.
  • To get a free shirt, make 4 pull requests on any GitHub repository.
  • Prior to making your pull requests, you must sign up on the official Hacktoberfest Website (link below).
  • Hacktoberfest is open to programmers and developers across the globe!
